auto curation of twitter feeds would be beneficial for everyone. how about a registry of one's personal privacy preferences that asserts ownership of cloud-sourced data in exchange for one's identity attributes? Knowledge of our viewers, our customers (Kraft Foods, Kelloggs, etc) in near-real-time can have many beneficial implications. Sharing/discovering one's intentions to buy is more valuable than knowing when one has already purchased.

It's gotten so bad that I've just about given up.

But one thing that I did that has helped is start a second Twitter stream for just 20 or so interesting twitter accounts. Just for reading. Check it once in the morning.

Then use my normal account for communications.
